“They brought the chair but where I can`t use my right hand and the working mechanism is on the right side, they had to come back at a later date, to install the right chair. This was fine though, I didn`t mind. It frightens me a bit as its a bit noisy and I`m not used to it, but I would still give it a 5/5 for quality and I would recommend the company.”

“Overall i would recommend them but not a fan of the feet on the stairlift it felt very rough to touch looked chipped - i`m am not satisfied with the finish of the product.Thought i would get 10% of warrenty as i took it out for 4 years but the boy i spoke to on the line came across as though he didnt know anything about it so i am currently speaking with them to chase them up regarding this.”

“We had a rather bad experience with the ordering of the parts we needed. so much so it took 4 appointments over a month to get the stair lift in place and safe. The issue wasn`t with the survey but the person transferring the survey details onto the ordering form. Lots of errors. I would give 4/5 for the product as we still have to clean the hand rail. I would recommend the stair lift and the sliding rail as Companion were the only company with that product which suited our accommodation, but I would tell them to make sure they have ordered the correct parts before they come to install. The weeks that passed whilst waiting for them to get it right was tough, with me having to carry my mother up the stairs due to the handrail already being removed..”

I have had several people come round to inspect the stair lift and I think they are going to be purchasing also. Companions communication was very tight and good and this included the follow up after sales.”

“There was a slight delay- from saying it would be installed on Friday to the installation supervisor calling to say all was set for Sunday. They did compensate me for this discrepancy in timing. The engineer was very good and there was not a scrap lying around after he had finished. The quality is very good and just what I would have expected.”

“There was lots of confusion over the time and date to install. I found the customer service agent quite rude suggesting I was lying at one point. The guy that came to install, I would give a 5/5, he did a great job. He bent over backwards for my mother and was very professional in his work. Unfortunately due to the experience with the customer service side of things I would not recommend the company.”

“I think the company fell short on how they surveyed because they missed a lot of things that needed to be done. They ordered the wrong sided chair so when it did arrive it was no good to be fitted. They also failed to recognise that a joiner would be needed for the floorboards so when the electrician came he was unable to do his work. The quality of the product now installed is great but it took 6 weeks to install because of the initial problems. I would recommend the company for the product but I would score them low on their expertise in surveying and getting the right team together for the job.”

“The company were very quick and easy, they understood what was needed, very good at promoting just what was needed and not pushing things that weren`t, so we felt they were catering for our needs all along.”

I just wasn`t very happy that they chose to call only 5 weeks after installation to try and push the extended warranty. Other than that, I was very happy and would recommend their service and products.”

In terms of the sales process and making the order, they did not harass me at all afterwards, they allowed me to mull over things whereas the other company kept on calling. I decided on Companion because they seemed to do more measurements with the stairs and also my dad , they also didn`t put any other company down , whereas the other company I dealt with did.. The guy who installed it was very polite and explained how it worked. My dad has a touch of dementia and the engineer was very good dealt with his needs sensitively. I would recommend Companion certainly but would also recommend customers get quotes from other companies so that you have the option to negotiate the price.”

“We had to keep urging them to hurry as our mother was coming out of hospital. They were supposed to install within 5 days but we had to really pursue them. It ended up being about 2 weeks. On the day they installed, it was done quickly and to a high standard. I would be cautious to recommend based on the initial problems not sticking to the installation date, which is also vital when a customer is so in need.”

“The sales guy wasn`t pushy at all, he was very friendly and laid back. They were a few days late in installing because the stair lift was still in Holland on the day it was supposed to be installed. This didn`t inconvenience us too much though. Companion had given us two options in how it would be fitted. I didn`t want it to be visible from the front door so we were able to park the stair lift out of view..that was really important to us. I would definitely recommend the company, my husbands life is so much better for it and he whizzes up and down the stairs like a 2 year old! Sales guy wasn`t pushy at all..”

The quality of the job was very good, but I do have to phone them as there may be a problem with the stair lift ... just with a knocking noise. I would recommend the company, they were very helpful whenever I phoned them and throughout.”

“My only concern was that they left the bannister rail across the bed, they quickly removed it in the morning however. I would recommend the company but I have only had the stair lift for a week. The engineers were very polite and I do feel they are a very good company.”
