Stairlift supplier or stairlift brand?
The brand is the make of the stairlift, such as Acorn, Handicare or Brooks. The supplier is the company that surveys your stairs, fits the lift and handles your warranty and aftercare. Some suppliers make their own stairlifts and others fit lifts from several brands, so the same lift can be priced very differently depending on who supplies it.

What to ask a stairlift supplier
- Is the home survey free? A reputable supplier will survey your stairs before giving a firm price.
- What exactly is included? Check the quote covers the lift, rail, installation, demonstration and any hinged rail section you need.
- How long is the warranty, and what does servicing cost afterwards? Ask for the annual service price in writing.
- How quickly can it be fitted? Straight lifts can often be fitted within days; curved rails are made to measure and take longer.
- Is VAT relief applied? If the user is chronically ill or disabled, the purchase can be zero-rated for VAT.

How do I choose a stairlift supplier?
