A straight stairlift is the most common and cost-effective type of stairlift and is the most required in people’s homes.
If your staircase is straight, a stairlift can be installed within days of being purchased. This is because the rail upon which the stairlift operates can simply be cut to the length of your stairs - requiring no extra manufacturing time or costs for custom requirements.
For staircases that have a couple of initial steps leading to a platform, a straight stairlift can still be installed so long as there are no further curves at the top of the stairs and providing the user can make it up the first couple of steps themselves.
If this is the case, you could save money by purchasing a straight stairlift instead of a curved one.
