Brooks started with Mr Brooks designing his first stair lift in 1972 and since then the business has
developed into a UK success, updating and improving their ranges.Due to growth and expandtion they moved its head office to West Yorkshire in 2001. The business benefits from 30 years experience in the market.
Brooks manufacture straight and curved stair lifts with swivel seats, moving armrests and lap belts. Brooks stair lifts give a smooth and quiet ride and are controlled by a joystick and wireless remote control unit. By using the remote control you can bring the chair up or down for you to use at any time. If you have the remote control with you at all times you can ‘’call’’ the lift if it is positioned at the opposite end of the stairs. This is especially useful if there is more than one user in your home. They operate on rechargeable batteries which will continue to power the lift if there is a power cut and require very little maintenance. These batteries will recharge after every trip ensuring they are ready for use. The stair lift will be fitted to your stair treads instead of the wall so there should be no need for any redecoration.
Brooks install safety sensors on their stair lifts to stop the chair if there are any obstructions whilst going up and down the stairs. Other safety features include an ectromechanical braking system with failsafe over speed governor.
