Selling a second hand Stairlift

We have received numerous calls and emails from individuals looking to sell second hand stairlifts which are no longer required, and asked if we have any suggestions as to how they can sell them. Selling a sairlift can be a difficult task, especially if the lift has a curved track taylor made to suit the staircase it has been fitted to, and finding an identical case to re-fit if unlikely. A straight lift will be easier to sell.

When selling a lift you need to consider who is going to remove the lift (you or the buyer) also are you going to deliver it or is the buyer going to pick it up.

There are various options available to sell the stairlift including; local press, online or to a stairlift company which sell reconditioned lifts:

Local Press – an ad in the local press can be relatively cheap, and ideal if it needs to be delivered as the buyer will probably be local.

Online – there are various sites you can advertise the stair lift on ebay or www.mobility-sale.co.uk. These sites offer greater coverage than local press but may involve a long drive to deliver of sold.

Stairlift companies – there are various companies which will buy and sell on stairlifts, such companies could be approached to determine if they will purchase the lift. Such companies include Associated Stairlifts, Easystep Stairlifts and Caremore Stairlifts
