The BBC reported that the Oakland Stairlifts has provided the carers at home with low cost stairlifts in order to help them deal with the daily chores. This came after the BBC reported that ‘Carers are missing out on the support at home’ as most of the Oakland Stairlifts are working as home carers.
Recently, Oakland Stairlifts were recently called in to install a stairlift in the 83-year old woman’s house, who met with an accident this month. Her small car crashed into a bus and that resulted in serious injuries which mean that she will have a long recovery period. With the result that she now needs a stairlift and due to the recession, as reported, the elderly are majorly hit. Families with elder people living with them are not able to afford stairlift. Lucy Gray said: “Even though I’ll be happy to look after my mother but her mobility will be restricted as I cannot afford a stairlift.”
However, Oakland Stairlift is now providing cot effective stairlifts day ad night to those looking for affordable help at home. The company spokesman said: “If we see that the stairlift is out of bounds for the customer, we offer a range of reconditioned stairlifts at an affordable low rate as we understand that the difference in price can make the elderly family member have a stairlift or be without it. It is important for us to ensure the care the elderly in the community deserve.”
The company spokesman said: “For those living independently, the question of not buying a stairlift didn’t occur as they will feel hopeless when they have limited access in their own house.”
“At Oakland stairlifts, we go an extra mile to ensure that the elderly are cared for. The woman who has been injured, will receive a stairlift as long as she needs it, without any extra cost.”
